Good food and comfortable places to stay

We offer more than the basics of food and shelter. Wild Days Conservation holidays are for people who enjoy life and appreciate the pleasures of good food and comfortable places to stay. We seek out the best and most characterful local food and accommodation.

You’ll enjoy the quirky, the intriguing, even the divine, and it will always be good quality. All this lovely food and accommodation is included in the price.

Lighthouse, cowshed or shepherd’s hut?

We stay in interesting country houses, cottages and places beautifully converted from other uses. These include a lighthouse, a former cowshed and a traditional shepherd’s hut. All our accommodation is comfortable and cosy. It allows privacy when you need it, and great company when you’re in the mood for socialising. Rooms are single or shared twins, depending on the specific place. We'll always be clear about this in our holiday information so you know what sort of room you will have. We do not usually charge single supplements.

Being a wildlife conservation organisation we’re naturally keen on minimising our environmental impact. We limit the driving we have to do and try to find accommodation as close as possible to our projects. We find that walking to work in the morning is a superb way to see an area.

Food, glorious food!

We're more than a bit obsessed with food at Wild Days – it's what we spend a lot of our time thinking about (apart from wildlife conservation, of course). Not only does it fuel our good work, but it's also a great medium for supporting local people and economies and experiencing the areas where we work. We're always on the lookout for the best and most interesting places to eat. We generally eat out half the time. This gives us the chance to sample the best local food, whether that’s fish and chips on the beach or a cracking pub meal. Dinner back at home the rest of the time gives us an opportunity to relax and recharge - or investigate the nocturnal natural happenings around where we live.

Coffee in the open air

We love our picnic lunches, prepared fresh each morning and, weather permitting, enjoyed al fresco in stunning scenery. Our locally roasted, freshly ground, fair-trade coffee is legendary. Where possible, it’s prepared on-site with gathered firewood and tastes fantastic after a morning in the field. We are happy to cater for most diets, given a bit of notice. Please let us know when you book if you have any special dietary requirements.
